Kate had a grand time today dressing up with her Aunt Danielle (age 9). Here she poses, wearing one of my shirts as a headscarf. 

"It's fun mommy!" says Zachary. A little dirt digging was followed by a bath and water play. :) 

Esther and Zachary took advantage of a break in the rain to do a little digging! 

Kate earned her second stripe yesterday! She thinks it'll take her a "few years to earn [her] black belt". But first she's working up to the yellow belt. :)

Joshua playing Legos on his new bed set-up. His bed is now high enough that he can open the window divider and listen to the stories being read in the living room while he is drifting off to sleep. We didn't plan this, but it works out great - because at 72lbs, we can't carry him to bed anymore! 

Zachary on his new bed set-up. We moved the boys' room around again. And during the week we were without heat, Zachary got a new blanket and comforter - which he loves! 

Zachary is learning to use the artist-quality Prismacolor markers like his siblings. Because these markers stain, he has to obey the rules about lids, clothing, etc. So far so good... 

Joshua working on a picture. Joshua's drawings are always interactive; he tells a story while he is drawing. As he was coloring this picture, the character was saying, "No don't make me pink. I don't want to be Pink!" 

Zachary playing Teletubbies on the boys' tablet computer. When Kate was a toddler I had read research on how toddlers and preschoolers could interact with computers with touch screens much easier than those that were mouse-driven. The technology wasn't mature enough or cost effective enough for my budget at the time. But this Christmas we were able to find a used tablet computer that was very economical. Zachary really enjoys being able to play games now like his siblings. 

Kate holding her completed "book" for the Reading Rainbow Young Writer's and Illustrator's content. It is six pages long, and is about a puppy who wanted to get a flower but couldn't reach it.  

Kate and Josh creating clay sculptures using Sculpey clay. Josh, in particular, was into working in clay this week. He created a variety of items in Sculpey and in modelling clay. Kate made Easter gifts from Sculpey clay.
